About the Author
Lance Johnson is a devoted father, coach, nonprofit leader, CEO, and United States Army veteran whose life has been marked by perseverance, faith, and a deep commitment to service. A native of Louisiana and now based in Texas, Lance is the founder of Prodigy Sports, a faith-driven basketball program dedicated to developing the character and talent of young athletes across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
With a degree in Business Administration and over a decade of experience working in both youth development and corporate strategy, Lance combines heart and leadership in everything he does. He has served his country in wartime, mentored countless young lives, and built a thriving community organization from the ground up.
But it was his most personal journey, loving and caregiving for his wife Catherine during her courageous battle with triple negative breast cancer, that inspired him to write Love Like Catherine Has Cancer. This deeply personal memoir is a tribute to their love, a reflection on loss, and a call for spouses to cherish their partners more intentionally and lead their families with love, faith, and presence.
Today, Lance continues to raise his two daughters(Malia and Aubrey) with strength and grace, carry forward Catherine’s legacy, and pursue the mission they began together, to uplift, empower, and inspire others through love and faith that never wavers.
